Daily up to 10,000 shipments
As one of the leading parcel logistics companies, we are driving the transformation of our vehicle fleet step by step to align it with the future. One building block is the 48-month test of the (hylane) hydrogen truck, with which we currently transport up to 10,000 shipments daily in central Germany. The handling of the vehicle is convincing so far, the feedback from the drivers is very positive.

As a globally active logistics provider, we are taking measures together with our customers and partners to make logistics sustainable. Unbureaucratically gain experience
hylane has enabled the HyWheels-Hessenflotten-Cluster to provide H2 trucks for short-term rental to interested hauliers within the framework of the Lernwerkstatt. This has allowed us to successfully pioneer a fleet that will grow into a whole fleet of articulated trucks and trucks nationwide in the future.
The best holistic approach
We see hydrogen as the best holistic approach to be able to map heavy-duty traffic emissions-free. We will only refuel green hydrogen that is produced sustainably and regionally.
Pioneer role in decarbonization
Since 1.5 years we have been supplying dm stores with four Hyundai hydrogen trucks. Over 250,000 km have been covered. We want to test alternative drive solutions as a pioneering role in decarbonization in our industry. This is to reduce CO2 and noise emissions for our future generations.
Another milestone
In addition to the growing number of electric vehicles that we use to deliver our parcels on the last mile every day, the focus is increasingly shifting to long-distance transport with innovations. The first vehicles are already being used in regular operations. For GLS Germany, the use of the first hydrogen truck is another milestone in the implementation of the Klima Protect sustainability strategy.
